The Shiva Vista Project is an art installation *by* fire performers *for* fire performers at night and for other individuals and groups during the day. Shiva Vista will create an atmosphere for fire performers, theatrics, sunrise yoga, circus entertainers, poetry, fashion shows, etc. to play, interact, and display their talent six feet above the playa for all to see their evolution, their transformation from one year to the next. When the Shiva Vista is not being used for scheduled performances, it will be available to anyone to use for meditation, shade, drumming, as well as spontaneous fire art and beyond.

History and inspiration...
Shiva is one of three aspects of the Hindu trinity representing divinity. Brahma is the first aspect, considered the creator, Vishnu the second aspect considered the preserver and Shiva, the destroyer. Shiva's function is to destroy all the worlds at the end of creation and dissolve them into nothingness, void, from which point Brahma again creates the world, completing the circle of life. Shiva is responsible for change, both in the form of death and destruction and in shedding old habits to start anew. Shiva's destruction is positive, that of nourishment and construction that builds and transforms life and energy for the welfare of the world and all that inhabit it. Shiva destroys to renew and regenerate. This is the destruction of an artist, a surgeon, a cook; evolution. Through destruction is facilitated the smooth transition of things and events from one stage to another.

The Shiva Vista project represents the theme at Burning Man this year and the continued evolution of Controlled Burn and the Fire Conclave Convergence Camp in the sense that this installation is intended to be built this year and used over the next couple of years, facilitating change, evolution, the shedding of old and creation of new, recycling and the circle of all life. Additions to the original structure are in the design process and will be added for Burning Man 2008, at which time it will be burned as it was designed to do, fulfilling the inevitable departure from existence into nothingness and oblivion!

You can also read a recent write-up in the Reno Gazette Journal, outlining the project and promoting our first fundraiser at

My experience was challenging this year, mostly due to my own expectations. Which surprised me, because usually I try to go without having any expectations. Once I realized that was what was happening with things changed and I had some really sweet moments. Sharing the deep playa and looking at shooting stars with a newly met stranger, now friend.
Deeping my friendships with old acquaintences. Some of the art was just staggering for me. VIsiting the camp with Alex Grey and the other Visual Artists was cool. Ben and Jerry's ice cream and wiggling my toes in some very green sod grass. Being the Maid of Honor in a friend's temporary Wedding. Enjoying the randomness of it all.

I know that there are also quite a few of them who live near the SF Bay Area. I was thinking perhaps we should get together somewheres and enjoy a weekend of chill, friends and good times. Not to mention a WHOLE lot less travel and expenditure... Just think of how much more environmentally friendly it would be to drive to say a beach within 1 hour of SF rather than the 5-6 hours + mountain pass the trip to BRC is.

I went to BM for the first time in 2001. I haven't made it back yet. I went kinda solo which at the time had its advantages. I spent a major amount of time exploring the playa and finding pieces of me. I can't go this year so next year is my target.

Burning Man changed my life in ways I am still sorting out. All I know is I felt like I belonged out there. I have done other things in the meantime but they are no where near as rewarding as the mind and soul blowing experiences I had out there.

I have a great tarot deck, "The Phantasmogoric Theater", and one of the things I want to do is barter tarot readings. I also have a cool idea to construct an electric-poweered, multi-legged playa walker. Somethilg that looks like a big spider.

I want to be part of a group next year. So far most of the camps I have come across in their description, I would not fit in or I would not be comfortable. I am willing to do dishes.

Judging from the scenery being said "bunny" my guess is he is located somewhere near Frog Pond just due south of the edge of the Black Rock Desert.

Approach with caution. He appears to be in an extreme state of aggravation, most likely due to the lack of female bunnies in the area. Should he approach you in this manner, stay calm, keep you sights on him or any other bunny and fire a warning shot into the air. This usually works as both a stun method and one that prevents him from escaping, as he will be slipping in his own shit from the gunshot and will be unable to escape, allowing us to further study this unusual creature.

End Report.

Here's my idea: Sometimes I make sculpture out of pennies and coins I smash up on the train tracks mixed with other metal and stuff...so...I would make a fountain out of scrap metal and some of the pennies and other found objects/recycled material/etc.(a wishing well really) that has flame effects in the center(would use my friend Argyre, who safety checks all the pyro artcars for DMV to make this safe and working)...the remaining pennies would be on hand to be used to grant peoples wishes. then after the event I would donate them on behalf of the borg2 to Make a Wish foundation

Here's where you come in: I need someone with better technological capabilities to collaborate with me to get my application in. You would need to make the DFilm(preferred) or a drawing of my idea.

Every year when I leave BRC I take with with me a very strong sense of how I should change my everyday approach to life so that I can be more like the person I am out there - happy, less quick-tempered, more relaxed, not as worried about shit that don't really matter in the end, and with a more open heart and mind. Usually that starts to fade when I get back to my real life and by the time July rolls around I find that I desparately need to get back to BRC, that I have forgotten everything, and in need of a new energizing jolt.

This year, I don't feel it fading. In fact, it seems to be growing. Every day I am remembering to look at people differently

* reminding myself that every story, laugh, hug, whatever that they share with me is a gift. And that there presence in the world is also a gift.

* reminding myself that negative energy from someone else doesn't have to create a negative reaction. And that I have no idea what happens before I enter the picture that might contribute to any circumstances, so I should not be so quick to anger

* reminding myself that you get back what you put out. If I want to have endless love come my way, I need to put out endless love. If I put out anger, negativity, and despair that is what I will recieve in return

* reminding myself that even the smallest action can cause an effect on the whole of things. Like picking up a stray plastic grocery bag may mean that someone doesn't slip on it later and get hurt. That giving small can be just as important as giving big - volunteering for a one-day project like Coastal Clean-up is as needed as giving 20 hours a week to a literacy project.

* reminding myself that forgiveness is a great thing and remembering to forgive myself for mistakes.

* reminding myself that I can be that girl every day, it just requires more attention to my actions and more diligence in follow-through.

So, there you have it. Not learning a new thing but learning how to apply and old idea.

It was excellent! With no problems at all. The best parts were when we hit four way intersections and had to choose the right road to get to our final destination, followed by TWO roads that parallel each other but never cross over. One leads you destination Blue Wing Playa, the other, another 50+ miles of hell and all the way up and over to Limbo.
Will be performing at Apogaea and at Center Camp Cafe Spoken Word Stage...
Here is some of my poetry:

Holographically Entitled
1,2,3, Czech, Czech, Czech Beamed up from Prague Like Star Trek I got lines going on to infinity Some call me a poet and some a divinity But I never take me too seriously Living on the edge deliriously Future evolution depends on our decisions NOW Surmounting every difficulty like Chairman Mao Learning about everything and how to learn more Watch in awe as my thoughts soar This mystery into which we delve Will all be revealed in 2012 Time's illusory hold is broken The WORD again is spoken Thus ends the hypermaterialist age Star children released from the cage Of "normal" human limitation The REAL real thing, no imitation Out in the multiverse at last Eternal visions of bliss so vast To make us all forget what's past Present Future moves so fast Like lightning strikes Twice from our mics Word cascading like Niagra Falls in your lap like Viagra Keeps your booty shaking As Armageddon's quaking My rhyme's erect it's never flaccid Complex Like Deoxyrhibose Nucleic Acid Been up all night I keep going and going and going Where this will stop there's no way of knowing Leo/Dragon's my horoscope I'm pyrotechnic like a Great White dope I'm on FIRE and EVERYTHING is funny I'm the freakin Energizer bunny It's inside me there's always more Like my man Jack Bauer on 24 Plugged in blissed out I'm inspired Into COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS I'm hardwired I'll live forever or I'll die tryin At LIGHTSPEED I'm time defyin Real SIRIUS, like the Dog Star And delirious, like the Drug Czar Makin my own synchronicity May seem like egocentricity I've got my flaws, but live life to the hilt LOVE AND DO WHAT THOU WILT Third eye's ON like I got X-RAY SPEX Driven to the edge of Cassandra Complex But I roll with the shocks Putting everything back in Pandora's Box The golden apple goes to the fairest I'm dress to thrill, ALL HAIL ERIS! Sacrifce to Bacchus another Red Bull While Giving thanks and being mindful Of all the joy that surrounds us Even when all the bullshit hounds us Back on Earth where we live life Death, rebirth and the afterlife "And I'm sailing away..." Live in the NOW, live for today The river Styx we all will cross In Hades, I'll be MY BOSS 'NON SERVIAM!' I'll tell the ruler Install central air,now that's cooler In the Underworld without a care All my best friends are there The Communist Party has hit the beaches See how far our conspiracy reaches Even in the depths of HELL We know how to party well We'll open a club, call it Heaven It'll be rockin 24-7 Dionysian revels I'm not joshin' Orgiastic, Hieronymous Boschin' Sure it's hot and plenty smoky But that's OK I know the doorman, Loki We like it spicy got no taste for mild Party motor running REBORN TO BE WILD We're quantuum mechanics under the hood Metaprogramming for the common good Einstien's Relativity, E=MC2 Good times are best when they are shared Cup runneth over, a cornucopia An underground network has created Utopia We make the rules by which the game is played Got a grip on the Eternal Golden Braid So if you're down with what we're professing Come with us we're effervescing To these naked truths we're undressing Love one another, it's a blessing!
